Boss Encounters

King Halric the Hollow

Undead Spectral Legendary

Appearance

A towering figure in ornate plate armor that seems to drink in light. Where his eyes should be, only hollow darkness remains. Shadows bleed from the joints in his armor like smoke, and his voice echoes with the whispers of a thousand forgotten souls.

Abilities

  • Shadow Step: Teleports through shadows, can appear anywhere within 60 feet
  • Command Undead: Summons spectral knights to fight alongside him
  • Life Drain Aura: All living creatures within 30 feet slowly lose vitality
  • Hollow Gaze: Forces targets to confront their greatest fears
  • Legendary Action - Spectral Army: Once per battle, summons a full army of ghost warriors

Tactics

Halric is a tactical genius, using terrain and his minions strategically. He prefers to wear down opponents before engaging directly. Will retreat and regroup if seriously threatened, drawing enemies deeper into the tomb.

Loot

Crown of the Hollow King, Spectral Blade, 5,000 gold, Ancient royal regalia

The Hollow Stag

Beast Spectral Legendary

Appearance

A massive spectral deer standing 15 feet at the shoulder. Its antlers spread like bare tree branches, decorated with glowing moss and bones. Its body is translucent, revealing a starfield within. Where it walks, plants either flourish unnaturally or wither instantly.

Abilities

  • Root Control: Commands trees and roots to attack and entangle
  • Forest Illusions: Creates perfect copies of itself and reshapes the terrain
  • Nature's Wrath: Summons swarms of corrupted forest creatures
  • Ghostly Charge: Can phase through solid objects while charging
  • Legendary Action - False Forest: Transforms the entire battlefield into an illusion maze

Tactics

The Hollow Stag never fights directly if it can avoid it. It uses illusions and terrain manipulation to separate parties, then picks off isolated members. Its ghostly nature makes it difficult to pin down.

Loot

Antler Crown (grants nature magic), Spirit Moss (alchemy ingredient), Nature's Heart crystal, 3,000 gold in forest treasures

The Iron Colossus

Construct Draconic Ancient

Appearance

A 40-foot tall humanoid construct of blackened iron and brass. Its chest cavity houses a pulsing dragon heartstone that glows with inner fire. Dwarven runes cover its body, some still active, others corrupted and twisted. Steam vents from its joints, and molten metal drips from cracks in its armor.

Abilities

  • Earthquake Stomp: Each step shakes the ground, knocking enemies prone
  • Flame Cannon: Chest-mounted heartstone fires concentrated dragon fire
  • Crushing Grip: Can grab and squeeze multiple enemies at once
  • Repair Protocol: Absorbs metal to self-repair between rounds
  • Legendary Action - Overload: Heartstone explodes in a massive radius, then regenerates

Tactics

The Colossus is relentless and direct. It prioritizes heavily armored targets and ignores minor damage. Its massive size makes dodging difficult but also makes it vulnerable to agile opponents. Destroying the heartstone is the key to permanent victory.

Loot

Dragon Heartstone (artifact), Enchanted iron plates (for crafting), Dwarven construction blueprints, 7,000 gold in salvageable materials

Vorthar the Molten Maw

Dragon Undead Ancient Evil

Appearance

A massive skeletal dragon with bones blackened by centuries of flame. Molten rock flows through its ribcage like blood, dripping to the ground and forming pools of lava.
